67 GTO Lucite dash nameplate
 

Has anyone had any luck obtaining the lucite strip that goes above the glovebox for a 67 GTO? My daughter bought me one from AMES for my birthday in July, but it is made entirely wrong....it has 6 large tabs (3 top and 3 bottom) and the GTO letters are silver instead of gray. The overall length is correct. I have been waiting over a month for AMES to get replacement correct ones, but to no avail. Any other suppliers have these? I am waiting for a return authorization for this one.....

On my dad's car the GTO letters are chrome on the grab bar Lucite, and my brothers as well.

We apologize for the inconvenience with this, Yes you're correct they should not have these tabs and the lettering should be chrome. This is how our last order came through and we have removed them from the shelf and are in contact with the manufacturer to correct this.

Are the GTO letters in the lucite chrome plated as original or painted silver as the website states?

Unfortunately they're not chrome lettering at this time and are still painted.
