Muncie 4 speed question
I'm getting ready to rebuild a Muncie M20. My question is which way does the oil slinger belong on the input gear? Does the raised center of the slinger disk face toward the front or rear direction. Some guys use an additional shim as well to gain better 4th gear engagement. Would the shim go in front or in back of the slinger? Thanks for advise!!

The slinger, dont really know if it makes much difference which way it goes. The shim goes between the slinger and the bearing, so it pushes the gear back about .030"

I had the same question in my mind when I rebuilt mine a short time ago.... One direction it will slightly rub the outer bearing race if I remember right I put it on the other way so the outer part of the slinger is towards the rear... The slinger doesn't appear that it will do much either way..
