EHTTFMF!!! An attempt at a technical discussion.
So many threads that contain EHTTFMF and why the E-Head is such a great race head, I thought we could really discuss why this head is so great.
I will start with a few thoughts; 2.110" x 1.660" valve size 215cc volume intake runner Patented "soup bowl" 72cc or 87cc chamber Other benefits from Edelbrocks web site. "These heads provide great torque and horsepower up to 5500rpm" Calvin Hill Hill Performance 707-250-7420 |
I just thought it was that EHTTFMF just rolls off the tongue and is fun to say.

Some of us don't even know what EHTTFMF stands for. I prolly get the last 2 letters.
This thread should be interesting..............:noidea:  |

Funny part is is it's not a great head it's an epic pile of s*** for a race head . And almost anything should smash it on the track effortlessly. And the sad part is its still TTFMF. That's what makes EHTTFMF is much fun. |
It's the mass production, so many out there, and many to modify to flow well.
They are cheap, and work with off the shelf parts. I'll start some more crap KRETTFMFER'S, DCITTFMFER'S LOL |
EHTTFMF is out of respect for the old and handicapped...the younger guns let them sit up front. :D

It's not the mass production, it's the fact that competing heads that are design by people paying attention to a bunch of s*** that doesn't matter. Or solve one problem and create another or 2 or 5 . So you get a head that is hardly better. |
I always thought Edelbrocks were an Aluminum replacement street head, race heads started with the KRE D ports and went up from there.

IMHO, only thing that make E-heads a "race head" is being able to make more modifcations vs the old original O-port heads.
If it wasnt for the new blocks, cranks, rods, pistons, way better power adders, etc., think you'd be make'n this much more power vs 20 years ago? |
It's not a great race head, in fact far from it. What's good is it has the ability to produce 3000hp with a standard pushrod location. It also has the capability of producing around 1200 horsepower naturally aspirated.
It's really a decent quality street head that is readily available and can be bought off the shelf from several vendors economically at different stages of porting to support anywhere from 700 plus bracket builds to 1000 hp aftermarket block builds. I believe it's won more races than any other head produced for a Pontiac. Also it's the only legal NHRA aftermarket Pontiac head. There is an emissions legal version available for states that require it. |
