Hello all, newbie question. I need to install a new trunk floor in my 67 GTO, can I get a 1 piece trunk pan to fit without removing the quarter or do I have to use the 3 section trunk pans.

Oh I see now the frame is in the way from coming up from the bottom.

Even if the frame is out of the way you would not get a 1 piece pan in without removing the quarters

Might be able to with the rear body panel (tail light panel) removed.

"I have already installed the 1 piece trunk floor in my 67 gto, It fits awesome!!!!!! the only mos needed is at the tail light ass. it is shaped different than the gto, I just just a flat seam 5" forward of the tail light ass.. the area where I spliced it is right in the middle of the rear (5th) cross brace, so It is impossible to see from outside the car!!!. on the inside of the trunk it is butt welded together; I then ground the weld down flat & leaded the seam.(you can use plastic filler instead).
the weld seam is 100% unnoticeable, all the other sides of the trunk floor place were spot welded in, like the factory did. This is a excellent fitting piece!!!!

one last note!!, You will NOT be able to drop the panel into the "trunk" area by opening the trunk lid! You will ALSO have to remove/replace the tailpan (which I did replace). the only other way, it may be possible to install.... is from the bottom side of the trunk, if the body is not on the frame!.(I would not recommend doing it this way!,)

Very important point. I'll add that if the car is on stands, they MUST go under the rear end and not under the frame.

lower wheel well patch
 

my drivers side lower"triangle" piece that ties the 1/4 panel extension is rotten, does the piece I need come with a outer wheel well? Could I cut one out of a repo wheel well and weld it in?
Squibs had made his own template, but is it available to purchase???

I do have a "template" in pdf format for that piece....it's on my webpage....link is in the left navigation column hopefully (I just re-did all my html and server files so I hope it's still there)....
click it and you can save it or print it....but make sure you print "actual size" so it's correct (everyone's printer margins are different, so double check the scale on the printout with a ruler...)
And of course you may have to trim it to fit depending on your existing rear quarters/wheelwells, etc.

The piece is simple to make with a chunk of flat 18-19 gauge. Just put in the soft curl required by hand and fit it up, and weld it up!

when lifting the body off, do I have to remove the front fenders,hood etc ???

Nope.

There some pics in one of the post here with a 64 where the guy lifted the body right off. He left the finder and radiator support in place. I think he just removed the bumpers.

When you get the trunk pan they make one for the 64-65 but they say it is for 64-67 sometimes get that one it is cheaper the 66-67 pan. Because you have to cut the piece off the back and weld it to yours or weld in a piece like I had to do to match all 3 pieces together because were the tail panel welds on was rotten on mine. Make sure it is true to the floor because if it is off 1/8" in the front on one side it will be off a lot more in the back(I know). yes you have to make your own pieces that tie the trunk drop offs to the wheel houses. Trunk drop offs you will need to have yours out so you can piece together with the one ones because the back is different too.

does anyone know how to replace the rear trunk brace (the ones the gas tank straps slide into)???

update! no longer using the multi trunk panels, after removing all the storesd parts from the interior, I've discovered the front trunk panel brace that is at the joint where the floor panel meets...is no longer there.
I have been looking to purchase the Dynacorn 1584WT.
Has anyone here used one? does it have to be modified at the tail panel? I have the rear body mounts off, and was planning to slip it in above the frame from underneath. I have the bumper off and can see what I think is the trunk floor under the tail light panel. Where do I remove the old floor at the tail panel?

2 more questions...sorry, can I use a plasma cutter to remove the old trunk safely near the frame/wheel wells, as far as I understand the ground is to the trunk only, so it should not burn through the rails????
Secondly, at the tail panel, to remove the back section of the pan can I just remove the spot welds from tail to pan, or do I have to remove the tail panel also?

I ended up grinding , went smoothly...what puzzles me are the mounts in front of the top of the coil spring towers, they're not a threaded body mount but more of a solid puck/cushion...is that correct????

they are a solid puck from the factory but you can use a regular bushing and bolt if you want...I did...maybe it stiffens the car up a bit?

I'm about to lift the body, also found no mounts just ahead of the rear wheels, just puck spacers like at the rear coil springs, is that right?

My Fremont built 67 had bolts there...different plants different ways of doing things
