Think this is legit?

Shouldn't the block be stamped X8? Wish it showed the engine. Seems like a good price if it's real.
SD

Without X in vin...probably not. Without shaker hood..probably not. Not showing phs with 455 SD engine...probably not

Still a 455 Formula with RA isn't a bad 73 Formula...nice color combo and looks complete for a non matching car?

XA is a '73 455 engine and came w/4X heads (like auction states). Not a SD455 engine. Car came with a 400 engine originally. I don't know why he's calling it a SD455.

necdb3 11-11-2016 07:11 AM

T code is a 400

Pepi 11-11-2016 07:13 AM

I would say no. He calls it a surviving car but has had a lot of work done to it. Shows it to be a 400 4-bbl and states it has a period correct 455. At least he was up front with some of his information, but doesn't know what he is describing since it all contradicts itself. Besides the fact that if it was a true SD, it wouldn't have the twin scoop hood.

bluebird455 11-11-2016 11:41 AM

Guy selling for a friend, heard that one before.
not an SD, wrong info given, but he could not changed description once offer or bid is placed, ebay rule.
Nice car IMO

Trolling for a sap with the right buzz words.

Greg Reid 11-11-2016 11:52 AM

I love the color combo on that one. The formula scoops actually look better on that car and I think they work better too...but as stated, not an SD with those twin scoops. Nice car though, love to have it.

Says "Tribute" right in the description.

Now it dose

It's amazing the number of rare Pontiacs on eBay with zero documentation.

bluebird455 11-11-2016 02:17 PM

Yes, says Tribute, but they were under the impression that the 455 was an SD originally, or that all 455's are SD's or HO's, quite common nowadays

Formulabruce 11-16-2016 04:25 AM

Pontiac should have built the SD like this, this hood.
Like to see underside, ( UGH>>> "Front frame rails are excellent, has frame extenders professionally installed " ( big No sale for me) I bet there are other AC components missing...
Seller is crazy stupid to advertise as anything to do with a SD.. a Real WU3 car is as rare in 73 anyways...
he should get 25 though

unruhjonny 11-17-2016 01:21 PM

This guy is definately fishy - he shows NADA values for an SD, numbers for an SD, and bases his value on an SD...
It's a nice car, but more better pictures of the engine compartment would be nice.
IMHO, a factory intake, and a well pictured/detailed engine compartment with ALL period correct bits should make this car get more, but alas, it's being sold as a nice looking driver, with apparently little detail under hood...

What's everyone's opinion on the spoiler bird being on the nose?
(I think it's too much)

TTOP350 11-18-2016 08:32 AM

I'll say it, I'm thinking 15k.
