Paint Revival and Patina Protection.

This is the car I am looking at on Sunday.

I personally love the green, it will not get painted, but would love to bring the green back a bit.

However, the question I have, and it will have haters and lovers for sure, is how do you revive old dull paint on a vehicle and still retain the rust.

Ideally I do not care for he satin clear coati g either as it would force a future owner or restorer to undo a lot of work.

So maybe waxing is an option.

I am with Optimusprime on the screw polish, but have polished my toys historically as it looks great.

Back onto this old car.

Imagine I just want to clean up, drive and get the WTF looks........

Shiny bits of original paint with the scorched paint from too much of its original life out in the Nevada desert.

So what processes do I follow to retain the patina, but revive the original paint.

I know there will be hates and lovers.

That really is not important to me, if I am going to drive the thing then it could be on my terms.

I have looked at all sorts of automotive tomfoolery lately, even panel vans.

I believe what the truck guys do is spray clear over the affected areas.

Just read that.

I see Martin is real serious about keeping it original, I get that.

I just need to find the most sensible way to shine up the green.

clr is one thing, it removes the rust and will bring paint waaay back...i mean incredible..they use PB blaster too..google it..

It is 13.15 in England so work time.

Red is a pretty truck.
