Heater hose conn 69 Bird a/c car
 

Could I have a suggestion as to how to change the bottom htr. hose that comes from the dash to htr valve? I don't think mine has ever been changed! I can not see the connection that comes from the htr coil. Does the A/c box need to be removed to change this hose? Thanks for your suggestions. Frank69

A friend of mine just replaced the blower motor on a 68 with AC. He removed the right front wheel, removed the RH inner fender and pulled the bottom of the RH fender enough to gain access.

I never thought he would have been able to do it like that but he was. Worth a try.

Just need to changeout hose for now. Sounds like your friend could have changed out the heater core. My car has the orig core so I pray every day it
don't break! Frank69

Thanks for the reply. Think I can do this by slipping hose & clamp onto outlet and tightening from the under side of car. Could see clamp from bottom of car..

It was a long time ago when I was younger and more flexible, but I was able to replace mine by taking out the inner fender well. I couldn't get the fender well all of the way out of the engine compartment with the AC stuff, but was able to get it moved out of the way enough to get access to the hose & clamp.

Thanks for the reply! May need to do that but I will try to keep from doing all that work! The problem I see is the connection from the core is by now very fragile..Can not pry or disturb it or I will be changing the core!... It looks good from top to bottom so I may just leave it alone. If it were swelled or looking distressed I would be more apt to try the change. Don't have hose order yet so will consider it for awhile. Thanks for sharing. Frank69
