That is a gorgeous car, I like it better in black too.

The car is obviously Marty Palbykin's 70 GTO as the Judge stuff is still on the rear quarters, but, I have heard that Big Chief is personalizing a few things on the car.

Hope to see it soon on one of the new seasons of SO shows.

This guy speculates he is running the same small block Pontiac from the old car.

I was told the driveline and engine would basically be similar to the previous Crow Pontiac engines but now with the CV1-1 cylinder heads and intake manifold parts.

Not sure who the guy is doing the narration, but he could have been better. The Cro-Mod certainly does not have a Titanium Chassis as stated. Also, I never seem to get a handle on the Small Block/Big Block crap with the Pontiac engine. To me and people who know the Pontiac engine, I guess the small block would be the 61-63 4-cyl.? That's a "small block" Pontiac, missing 1/2 of it's cylinders. Fairly certain the new crow would have the 482 iron block IA II he has been running for years, with a switch down the road to the all aluminum solid block IA II he also has. That is probably the block the CV heads will be going on. That's just my guess. It should be an interesting year for the show and Chief's program.

The 301 with its 9.14 short deck is closest to what you might consider being our small block V8. The heads and recip sucked as did the 79 and older non turbo blocks.(79 "T" blocks and newer 80 up 301's arent all that bad.)

If anything our Pontiacs are "mid-size" blocks.

I havent asked which block so dont have an answer. I'd speculate the iron block gets CV1's similar to/same as Fultons with something in a larger port for the aluminum block. We will find out when it debuts I guess.

Chief explained, in one of the episodes, that it was easier for others (non Pontiac people) to understand it as a "small block" because of it's relatively "small" cubic inch compared to what others were running at the time.

I not sure he is going with black. The back half of the car is still black and has the Judge decals it had when he bought it from Marty, the doors are from the old Crow, and the front clip is black gelcoat.

I'd bet the car will look just like the old Crow.

The "black" you saw is the steel portion from the way it was when it was Marty's... if you watch the video you will see him backing it out of the shop, black back portion, then white door, then gel coat black front clip...

Only 1 door from the old crow was salvageable so it is on the new car...

Just saw anther video with the passenger door from the "old" crow on the new car.

So the above video was shot at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, CA. Anyone know why he brought the car all the way out here?

You are correct - that was the only salvageable door. The Drivers door is something else...

Probably because it's still winter in his state.
