1967 firebird Holley swap. Linkage options

I sort of have this is the street section too. I didn't realize that the 67 throttle linkage was one year only with the rod. I bought a lokar cable. Will that not work at all with the 67 linkage. I saw a thread over on first gen . Org where someone suggested switching to a cable but didn't offer any how to about it.

Some already suggested switching to a 68 pedal assembly. I just want to know all my options before I start spending. And now that the motor is in I feel like I could be a nightmare to get to bolts down on the firewall to change a pedal.

What are my options for a Holley with and without the rod.

Early Camaros that came with a Holley had a specific rod that is available from repro houses.

Yeah when googling the problem there were more camaro answers than firebird. Apparently all 3 years had the rod for first gen camaros. That z28 rod came up a lot. I bought an adjustable rod from jets. We will see how it works.

I think I'm going to have to modify my RPm slightly. The linkage is going to hit.

Hmm, I wonder if that rod will work with a 69 Firebird? I have a Holley too...

I will post a pic of my setup (67 FB, with Crosswind/RPM and Quick Fuel carb) when I get home. Throttle linkage is original-ish, 326 2bbl car.

I bought this guy http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performan...15795/10002/-1

A dude in a Facebook group had one, different brand but looks the same, said it worked great and it looked good. Cheap enough solution to give a shot. The z28 rod is bent for a taller intake. I do like that. If the Jegs rod doesn't work that will be my next stop.

I'll be waiting intently on your result :)

I have a Torker II so I will probably go with the Z/28 rod.

Right now I just have a bare accelerator cable with the end pinched with a screw on the Holley throttle lever. Not the best solution lol.

The one thing I'll say is I had it pull apart on me once. Now I just kinda had it hand tight in place because I was still experimenting with length. But you don't want that to happen while driving. So after I got it where I wanted it. I put some blue locktite on it and the torqued it down.
