'67 Deluxe Interior Recommendation?
Is there a preferred brand of deluxe interior door panels or ones to stay away from for a '67 bird? I'm not going for show quality, but I also don't want junk.
I'll also be needing a headliner, rear arm rest, sail panels, & package deck. Thanks! |
Will standard door panels work on a door that originally came with deluxe panels?

Legendary is the best for your interior needs

I'm in the process of completely replacing my deluxe interior panels as well. I ordered everything from Classic Industries and have a few things I don't like. My car is a convertible so things will be a little different.
The good is that the door panels are backed with thick plastic instead of cardboard. The problem is with the back panels. The upper 1/4 panel where the window crank comes pre-assembled on a cardboard backer but unlike the originals there is no padding so they're flat. The rest of the side panels are metal so all you get is the material to recover them but again no padding. I called them and they don't have any padding to go with the new vinyl. So now I'm taking all the pieces to a local upholstery guy who is going to add the padding and assemble everything for me using the originals as templates. |
Legendary is good but pricey. I have done my entire interior with PUI products and I am pleased with the quality and the look.

I just wanted to post an update.
I got my parts and had my upholstery guy put the side panels together. It wasn't until now that I noticed the major color difference between the sides and door panels. The doors match the rest of the interior perfectly but the side panels are a much brighter red. I called classic to see what they would do seeing as how their site states these parts "will match" and the first thing out of her mouth was they won't. After going back and forth a few times they're sending me 2 cans of interior dye to make them match. I know I should have checked them out first and I told them that but based on their wording I didn't and now I have a out $200 in work done to have them built up right. We'll see what the dye does for me. |
