67 door alignment ??

What's the trick to aligning the doors on a 67. Fenders off. Original doors and rebuilt hinges. Quarters still on. How do you get to the phillips head screws on the bottom hinges ?? I've removed the spring to make it easier to open and close the door.

That bottom hinge screw is most unpleasant. I loosen up the screw a bit and leave it loose while aligning everything. Then pull the door back off when the door is aligned and set the screw tight with an impacter. I imagine the factory had some kind of angle driver to set that screw with the door in place..

You need the fenders and cowl panel on so that the top positions are known. The bottoms can be massaged to align with the rocker panel so focus on the top and feature line with the fenders. Don't be afraid to add or subtract metal to get the gaps looking good. Factory gaps were not that great.
