So ive been trying to do some research on what cars are 5x5. EVEN non Pontiac. lol. Its still a work in progress but this is some good info if someone wanted stock wheels of certain others. not saying they would but, just sayin lol

The big jellybean looking Caprices & Roadmaster Buricks from the early 90's had 5 on 5 bolt pattern & are fairly common wheels @ cheap tire/wheel jockeys. Most likely, the latest 5 on 5 wheel used on pre Gubberment Motors crusher bait.

My mid '80's Safari wagon has 5 x 5's.

I think I remember that some of the late model Jeep products had 5 x 5.

We're any of them wider than 6 inch?

a few were 7 inch i believe(later model and i believe jeeps) But thats something i didnt think to put in. now that you mention it, it probably wouldve been better to include those. lol

I thought the newer Jeep rims were metric? Or does it matter? I've been looking to replace the 70s Lincoln Mark rims on mine.

The Jeep listing copy and pasted off of a Jeep site, no it isn't a metric size, same as the older smaller Jeep pattern is 4.5 is same as chrysler and ford, and most small trailer 5X4.5.

And really old Jeeps were 5X5.5, same as1/2 ton ford 2 wd trucks

The truck rally wheels went all the way up to 15 x 8

I believe Edsels and Ford passenger cars like the Ranchero and Galaxie from 57-59 were 5x5 as well.

Today, while readying my Safari to sell it, I put a low mile set of radials from my Bonneville on it. Needing to put some hides on the Bonne, I grabbed a pair of 'air holders', Michelen LTX 235 75 15 on 1989 Ch3vy W/T full size silver painted wheels... they >JUST< fit on the back of the car.

Some of the vans of this era had some halfway decent rally wheels. Also many had the poverty cap option, which would be at least a temporary no-brainer in terms of looking OK. Best part is that there are many tires still available for these which can handle the load of a big car.
