69 Firebird Turn Signal
Last week I noticed when I use my turn signals, yes some California drivers use them, the interior turn signals flash quickly. Forgot to check when I got home. This evening I noticed they are "normal". Decided to check. All signals work, but the rear left flashes the inside bulb, not the outside. The right flashes the outside only.
Pretty sure only the outside signals flash and not both. Correct? I'm talking about the rear brake/turn signals. There are two bulbs, inside and outside. |
on mine, the inside and outside both flash.

Inside and outside should flash for both turn signals and hazzards.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZlwKPycDYc Based on what's happening it sounds like you've got something crossed and as a result the resistance on one of the flasher cans is different, causing it to blink rapidly. First thing to check is simply to see if a bulb is burned out. Another thing to look at is the sockets themselves. Mine were pretty severely corroded and needed replacing. |
Looks like I had a bad bulb. Decided to change the 1157 to 2057 and cleaned all of the socket. It didn't make sense that only one side would flash, but it was late. Everything works as it should again.
Thanks! |
