62 Cat Replacement Carb
 

Looking to replace the OEM Rochester 2GC (large bore) carb on my 62 Cat 15H 389 267 HP engine with TH350 trans. Recommendations needed for reliable source of a rebuilt carb.

Carbking, here is a Carter guy and was a dealer for them, might give him a call, just to see. Jon Hardgrove is his name his business name is The Carburetor Shop, in Eldon, Missouri. He only communicates via phone, even though he has a web site...1-573-392-7378.

Carbking no longer rebuilds carbs if I'm not mistaken. Mike Wasson and John Wright at Pontiactripower.com, and Jon Havens in St. Louis, do and have tons of experience with 2gc carbs.. Jon Havens can be found in Smoke Signals mags.and on the POCI website.

Engineer9- I have a rebuilt one, bought it from Carbking 17 years ago. It's never been on any of my cars, was rebuilt be The Westling Co. Still has their sticker on it. Jon Hardgrove from the Carburetor Shop indicated it is correct for '63 and '64 Pontiacs with the 389 (original carb. #7023066) . I have no idea of the changes from a '62 carb to this one.

My idea of calling Jon was to see if he had a carb to sell. I do not know what all he does, but do know he no longer builds carbs.
