Interior paint - 1962 red

I notice the inner heater matches the interior color, does anybody just paint these black??

Anyway, looking for a good paint which matches 1962 red, this is original paint on the pillar cover.

The correct color is a carryover from 1960 called medium garnet poly # 50568. It is the same as exterior color. That is the same color as Coronado red. Probably need a little flattener in there for interior garnish moldings. EDIT : just saw you are looking for 62 color. I checked and 62 had Belmar red which is again the same 50568 lacquer part number as 60, yq,62 so that should be your interior color for,the moldings. I recently did my Safari moldings. One cool thing I found was the cargo area floor metal and seat frames are cherrywood bronze which is also an exterior color. So Mayan gold garnish moldings and cherrywood bronze stuff in cargo area. Neat stuff.

My original '62 Cat was painted Belmar Red Metallic; my current '62 Cat is painted Redfire Metallic, a 2006 Ford color. It is a very close match, with a touch more metallic. For comparison, both cars can be seen on my Pontiac Webpage: http://engineer9.com/HOME/Pontiac/pontiac1.htm
