Looking for Maryland Members/Club

I am looking for any local Pontiac clubs, meetings or members in the area. I am in Carroll County Maryland. I have a 64 GTO Driver. I recently swapped(Stored) the tired 389 for a stroked 400/461 by Jim Lehart at CVM. I recently got the engine installed and running. It seems to be running well at low idle/RPM. When you give it more throttle it runs funny. I don't know how to describe it better. I would like to learn as much as I can about carb adjustments, vacuum advance, timing etc...So that I can trouble shoot and get her back on the road.

Thanks,

Steve

Steve, there are a lot of Pontiac guys near you in central Md. The Royal GTO's are not too far from you. PM me and I can give you some contact numbers.

As a Frederick County, MD GTO owner, This info would be valuable.
I moved back here last year from Montana. (still asking myself why)
My '69 is just about finished,, actually it will never be finished who am I kidding.
Post some pics Steve!!
I grew up living in Carroll County, Mt Airy to be exact.

I am out of Northern Va, also had my engine done at CVMS. I dont know of any local clubs here for Pontiac's. There is the ALL Pontiac show every May at Burdette Brothers in Maryland. Nice Event, any thing Pontiac Club related please post.

Hey Harry, yes I heard about the Burdette Show. Unfortunately a few days too late.
I heard it is a great show to go to. Next year for sure!
I need to get some head work done on another engine, my plan is CVMS or Spotts up in Hatfield PA.

Guys, get up with the Royals, there are a bunch of them near you in central Md. Hampton Conway is the new membership coordinator 3012105091. Also check out the SVGTO club in Pa. I didn't find out about them til I already had a car, unfortunately. Their contacts could have saved me thousands of dollars and headaches had I known them sooner. Jeff Raff lives in Westminster and he does paint, mechanical, etc 3015205188. For heads/engine work Jack Gaydosh in Baltimore is outstanding, reasonable, and fairly quick. The next big Pontiac show nearby is the SVGTO show in Pa which is Aug 19, should be 200 pontiacs. If you want more contacts text me at 3014666455. Chris DeForce.

Seems like we need more resources over here, on the shore.

GTObsessed 08-03-2017 11:03 PM

Looking forward to meeting some of you guys. Thank you for sharing contacts!

1966, I thought I saw your car on 611 recently. You are right, there isn't much Pontiac action here on Delmarva. Bill Groton in Seaford is the top dog out here, he has a shop where he can do anything mechanical. His dad is a regular at US13 Dragway in Delmar in his white 66 GTO. Those two are known for fast Pontiacs around here. There is a Delmarva POCI chapter based in northern Delaware, last I heard most all of their events are up north from us. Hit me up if you need any local resources.

Yea, I'm driving the heck out of it... I'm worried I'm gonna wear it out, prematurely! Hahaha
