Red 1967 GTO (frame off)
 

I am in the process of completing a full frame off restoration on my 1967 GTO. My intentions are to offer it to the open market in the next couple of weeks. The following photos were not taken with the focus of a pretty background but taken to show the in detail the quality of the restoration.
Just to give a fraction of what was done during the restoration, but not limited to is the following included the receipts:
New complete floor pan, trunk pan, and drop offs, inner and outer wheels wells. New front fenders. I was restoring the GTO to last for several generations and wanted it to be the most solid body you could find.
Engine rebuilt $4,024 by Detroit Muscle
Carburetors rebuilt and replated $622 Cliffs Performance
Seat belts restored $537 by Ssake-oyl
Dash pad $615 Just Dash
Complete Legendary Auto Interior (new foam and seat covers, door panels, headliner) $977
Gardner (show package) exhaust system $1045
Over $2,000 spent on re-chroming (center consul, interior map lights, door handles, side vent window frame, valve covers, air cleaner etc.
Instrument cluster restored by well know restorer
All new side, windshield and back glass (correct LOF)
New tires and brakes.
Over 10k in receipts from Ames Performance for misc parts.
I can go on and on. Over 100K invested in this GTO
I would like to believe the GTO should bring somewhere in the upper 60’s.

It looks to be a very, very well done car. I would think it should bring the top of the market for any 4 bbl, automatic 67 GTO hardtop. GLWTS!

i saw your GTO is already on ebay and the restoration looks very, very well done. that said, $60k+ for a 335/auto seems like really strong money. i know of a beautifully restored 67 HO 'vert, 4 speed that is struggling to bring $65k. that car just went through mecum in harrisburg and topped out somewhere in the mid/high 50s, iirc. while $40-45k will bring cars like my '67, $60-65k seems to bring all but the R/A cars. either way, i wish you the best of luck.

I would take it down to Columbus. I hear they like red cars down there.

Beautiful car! Not sure what's happening with the prices these days.

That was my 67 H.O. convertible that was at Harrisburg, It had a crowd around it all week, but it didn't equate to money. I think Harrisburg was the wrong venue for me. The car did sell though, after stalling at $58k, I was just going to take it back home, when Dana Mecum ran me down and had a bidder who raised his bid, so I sold it for $62,500 and negotiated a very reduced seller fee. All in all I got my money back out of the car, just not as much as I'd hoped for.

Very beautiful car. One of my recommendations to help sell the car would be to paint the ribbed portion of the hood scoop insert flat black as it came from the factory. (If you haven't already -- it appears red in the pictures.) Probably a matter of personal taste, but I also think white lettered tires detract from the value of a high end 67 since they weren't available from the factory. Again a matter of personal preference, but if the PHS calls for Rally I's I feel the addition of Rally II's (which look better in my opinion) might be an issue with a higher end buyer.

I agree the GTO should be taken to one of the major GTO events where it can be seen to see the detail put into the restoration.
I just do not have the time.

That is a new dash and the gages were restored by one of the members. He does outstanding work.

Agree on the scoop inserts. Noticed it right away and that always stands out to me because it screams 'repaint'. Minor issue, easily remedied and it certainly wouldn't keep me from buying if I was in the market.
Absolutely fantastic car judging from the photos. Good, detailed photos too.
