Intake valve
 

This valve came out of my Edelbrock aluminum head. Is there a way of determining if its the original valve that came with it..?

The only thing I can offer is the length of the valves used by Edelbrock (11/1999)

head #6057 5.093 intake 5.110 exhaust

head #6059 5.213 intake 5.230 exhaust

its hard to measure it being its bent but seems it measures around 5.290

This head was bought in 2010

Scary crack...if that valve came apart then the Head & slug rod bearing crank journal get roached.

Have to find some Inconel valves of the same size..

Yes, there is a number at the top of the valve near the keeper groove. If your valve has a number, let me know what it is.

Ferrea has super alloy valves for those heads. It's some proprietary super high grade steel from the inconel family. We had good luck with them in nitrous and nitro applications. We have severely bent some from other issues but never cracked one.

Unfortunately there's no number. Maybe this means its not original? I don't know.. I did buy this head new..

I definitely need a good material for these valves. The exhaust valves only last 1 season .They always get tweaked/ bent from the heat I think.... Im tired of cutting them to fit back in for some more run time .

WE have Manley make custom stainless valves out of blanks ,Have to hope the available blanks will machine to size you need in the high heat material.Cant check till Monday.Bill C.

It's quite clear by what's going on with those valves that you need to run the Ferra 6000 series valves!
It looks like they are floating like mad!
Are you not busting up lifters also if your running rollers?

All the valves I've seen from Edelbrock have a p.n. etched on them. I received a complete pair out of their first run of heads and have seen more than a hundred heads since...they all had part numbers.
Yes, Ferrea will sell directly to you as will Manley, however you will probably get a better price dealing with one of their vendors.

If you purchased the head new from Edelbrock, why would you question if the valves are from Edelbrock?

They are maybe a 1/2 miles from Keith Wilson's shop.

Keith Wilson, I am sure is a dealer for them. Obviously a very honest guy.
Could get you possibly a bit of a discount vs Ferrea and ship right out to you.
I would talk to the Ferrea guys though to get the exact valve you need no matter who you finally go through or purchase direct.
