61 parking on a hill!!
1 Attachment(s)
Ok...just got this thing on the road...new brakes all the way around and park cables adjusted along with all 4 wheels. My dilemma is that my driveway is fairly steep and the park brake will not hold it. I am currently using a wheel chock but my wife just laughs at it!!
Enough of her...old cars without a park or standard transmission will have these issues!! Any other suggestions? I am sure that the wheels are adjusted correctly and so is the cable...when applied only goes half way and can't get any more pressure. The park brake holds it just fine in gear...forward or reverse. |
Keep the chock. Get a new wife.

Or park it front- down hill, the self energizing brakes will hold it unless the cable needs tightening.

Good news. Dem engineers were pretty sharp, Ain'a?

When you apply you p-brake pump your brake pedal a few times.
That will put more pressure against the brake drums and give a good hold. GT. |
