67 GP positive battery cable

I searched everywhere for a new positive battery cable and the only place that had one was Napa.

Is the cable supposed to be run through the 90 degree tube that bolts to the rear of the head? The same tube that the starter solenoid wires run through?

If so, my cable is about 2-3 inches short? I can take a picture if this doesn't make sense.

I found a NOS Positive battery cable from. Cal. Pontiac Restoration parts. It has a metal bracket that mounts to the frame, just before the starter.

To answer your question, no, the battery cable does not run through that piece. The part of the harness that runs down the back of the motor to the starter goes through that 90 degree piece. The battery cable is held in place by a small bracket on the top of the frame rail, adjacent to the starter, like 67GP428 mentioned.

It routes like so (aftermarket cable):

In the second picture there's a little bracket that holds it in place. Mine was broken. It wasn't the best way of routing it, they changed the routing in later years.

Thanks for all of your replies. You guys are great! I know that some of my questions seem like no-brainers, but after 5-6 years of disassembly, one tends to forget.
