Radiator rubber mounts
Anyone have any radiator rubber mounts available for a 68? I found 3 of mine and need 1 more. Can't seem to find it.
Thanks |
Depending on your car ... you might need to provide some details. I think the four row radiators had two of the same size, and the three row radiators had a different size on each side .... on a three row the tanks on left and right are a different thickness, on four row the tanks are the same thickness. The passenger side where the trans cooler hooks up is the thicker of the two tanks.
Not sure if this applies to manual trans cars. The rubber insulators are reproduced in the event you can't find any decent used ones ... which can be tough, lot of the used ones are pretty beat. |
Do you need the ones with the 2 tabs sticking out or the plane ones?
Reason I'm asking is I have a set of 4 but my car does not have A/C and the 2 on top are supposed to have 2 tabs to mount to the fan guard, mine do not. I think I can get the 2 I need, if you can use them, they are yours, I think I can still use 2 for the bottom. Frank |
I need one of the bottom ones.

I don't know how I got this kind, they more than likely just sent the wrong ones but if you think you can use them for the bottom let me know. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=201322735431 Frank |
That's what I bought from Summit. Guess I should see if they fit. Which I kinda doubt
Thanks! |
Your welcome, I purchased a new core support, the original was bent, insulator brackets are still mounted to the old one, I need to dig mine out and check as well.
Let me know what you find out. I see the top insulators on epay, I think Ames has the bottoms. Thanks Frank |
In a jam cut the right length of heater hose and slice it open (like a hotdog bun). It will grip the rad nicely when you push it into the shroud
