Wenzler Tunnelram, 2 tops, carbs, nitrous, linkage
4 Attachment(s)
After kicking it over for quite sometime, I have decided that I am going to stay with the single dominator setup I am currently running so here is my original design Wenzler tunnelram with both a 4500 top and dual 4150 top. The carbs are nearly new Holley 600 vac secondary carbs, one is a 80457-10 and the other a 80457-12. They are identically calibrated, the only difference is the main bodies were manufactured in different Holley foundries. I bought both carbs at the same time from Holley as factory refurbished carbs on their ebay store.
The nitrous system consists of Edelbrock plates and currently jetted for 100hp. I will include the NOS Cheater solenoids that are currently on my car. These Wenzler tunnelrams are notorious for sitting high so I had the sides milled (I think .045 each side) and the intake fit very well on my out of the box E heads on my zero decked 455 block. At one time I had a pair of 660's sitting sideways on the intake and modified a Chevy linkage system to fit. I'll find and include that as well. I'd rather not part it/separate but will in time if the whole setup doesn't sell. $1000 plus the ride |
Johnny, Just curious if you ever ran it with the 4500 top and if so how did it work?
I am running a fabricated plate for 2x4's but certain races requires a single 4. If someone wants it without the 4500 top let me know. |

Yes the car ran very well with the single 4500 (both a Shaker build 1050 and later a 950 Ultra Dominator and the looser converter on 3.90's. I toasted the tranny last year and went to the tighter Continental converter I bought from one of Jim Hand's sons and dropped down to a set of 3.31's. The tunnelram didn't care for the 3.31's and tighter converter so I went to the heavily modified HSD. I'm about to do a head swap and go to a Northwind. |
I'd be interested in just the ram with the 2x4 top if you decide to separate.
