'64 Best Convertible Top

I know this has been covered a number of times but looking for current info.

Where should I order a correct top with brass zipper and date code?

What about the top pads and other odds and ends?

How about the well cover?

Is Kee still the go to place?

You can't buy a " correct " boot well .there is or was a thread with pictures of an original and how it was constructed.
I've had the best luck with Kee Tops

Kee has been around for years and years for good reason. Not sure what brand of top mine is, but I had it done in 1985 and it's still on my '67, and still looks and works fine. And this car was my daily driver and never garaged from 1983-1993.

What’s the best top for my 64 show car..?

I had my 64 GTO convertible top (made by Crown Imperial) replaced in about the 1984 time period. Still looks like Brand New (but a light bit dusty) from being in the garage all of these years. AT THE TIME, THAT TOP WAS ONE OF THE BEST TOPS MADE.

Do not have a clue who makes convertible tops today.

Here is my 3 cents worth. Brody and I just spent the best part of 2 years getting the best original replacement top we could build. I STRONGLY recommend Robbins tops. Doug Robbins will talk to you if you need help. You do need to request a brass zipper. We ordered a plastic window from him with no stamp. Brody sent the plastic to Koch Corvette to have the correct stamp made on the plastic AND included the measurements for positioning the date coded stamp. The boot well is made by your top guy. Really easy and very inexpensive. I believe the total cost of top material, labor and shipping was around $700.00. Top installation is added to that.

If you have questions, please ask. PM or email or phone.

I did a thread on the top well. I think I did???? That is the easiest part of this operation.

Make sure to ask Doug for the original leather grain piping or edging not the incorrect pinpoint. Also the header seal material needs to be leather grain NOT pinpoint.
