1972 GP - J vs SJ

I'm looking at a '72 Grand Prix that is for sale. What is the difference between J and SJ trims?

455 engine and cornering lights to name a few.

the SJ group was Y97 and consisted of:
34W-455 engine
434-R.H. & L.H. body color mirrors
-L.H. remote control
614- vinyl accent stripes
662-lamp, luggage
664-lamp, door courtesy
691-maintenance free battery
718-rally gauge cluster

the J had a 400 as standard (no such thing as a SJ with a 400 engine), but could be optioned with everything in the SJ group individually. there really is no dead give a way that the car is a true SJ with out PHS.
'72 was the first year for the engine to be identified in the vin. it is the 5th digit and is a letter. the 400 4bbl is designated with a "T" and the 455 4bbl a "Y". these were the only two engines available.

So, cornering lamps were no longer standard on an SJ? I have always had 69 cars with the exception of one 72 SJ. Not sure, but I think my 72 SJ had cornering lamps.

FWIW my 72 J has luggage, cornering lamps and the door courtesy lamp options.

my '69 info is not readily available, but I believe it to be the same as '70 (except for the 428).

for '70, Y97 model SJ
322-lamp group
348-455 engine
488-rally gauge cluster & clock
631-automatic level control
RR-G78x14 white fiberglass tires

Y92 Lamp Group
651-lamps, cornering
654-lamp, dome & reading
664-lamp, door courtesy
671-lamp, underhood

My 72 400 Prix does not have cornering lights, maybe 455 cars have them standard?
