Pontiacs @ SGMP
I saw John Snyder in his black 65 GTO. I saw him do a big wheelie and go 5.0s
Then there was a maroon 64 GTO there with a 598 inch Warp 6 KRE motor there running 5 teens at 135 mph. KK is there helping Ron Rhodes go 4.38 in his SBC Camaro. |
There was a couple of Firebirds there running Pontiac engines as well, One was a Black Gen 3, The other a Gen 2.
Snyder drove over the crank!!! Seen the 64, looked like a nice ride. |
Glad to hear some Pontiac guys are out the mixing it up with Brand X'ers. Good luck to all!
|
Snyder hurt the motor not sure how bad.

Rhodes camaro is amazing for what it is!

Hated to hear Snyder had issues, he's had a rough couple of years.
Is the 65 GTO really 598ci? Looks like a nice car, wonder what it weighs? Dragzine had a couple pics and a small write up on it..... "Tommy Youmans owns this 65 GTO entered in Pro 275 powered by a Kauffman Racing built pure Pontiac engine with their Warp 6 War Chief head combo. Youmans purchased the car as a roller and had several engines in the car before stepping up to this level. The former bracket racer is on the “donut” 275 radial for the first time scoring a 5.0 while testing yesterday." |
Nice looking car. Thanks for posting.

It’s a 64, not a 65.
I was told it’s a chassis car with some CF inside, lexan windows. So you can get an idea. |
I think that is Jim Scotts old 64 tube chassis car
|
yes that's the 64 I sold to tommy youman's -- the car has carbon inside and weighed just under 2500 he has not let this car rest since he has had it--- he has done great and wonderful-- very proud of what he has been able to accomplish-- I believe he will be a force to recon with at Norwalk so if your unlucky to pull up next to him you better be ready go tommy jim scott

That would be less than the Pickett's made with only 428 cis and warp 6's Stan |
