1970 LEMANS/GTO DECK LID

Looking for a deck lid/trunk lid for a 1970 Lemans/GTO.

The previous owner of the car let it sit outside with no rear glass in it, for an extended period of time.

I finally gave up on finding the package tray assembly- going to see if a Chevelle Package tray assembly will work.

package tray from a chevelle wont work...if its rusty on the panel between the glass and the decklid..its GTO/lemans..

its how the glass is shaped and the window moldings fit..chevelle is almost straight and the GTO has a nice long curve....very specific to LEmans/GTO..some one told me they repopped the tulip panel for GTOs recently..tulip is the panel i'm talking about.

a friend on another board just went thru all of this, and had to find one for GTO..he ordered the chevelle stuff and it wasnt even close to matching up..

package tray assembly. How much metal do you need? I have a few junkers here. I picture would help.

PARTS- NAME CALLING

I think everyone is speaking of the same panel. Its not the trunk filler panel, which I did find in lots of repops.

Its instead the panel beneath the rear glass that people often mount speakers in, and which is part of the back, upper seat support, with the hooks you hang the upper rear seat on. Its probably all of that.

Vehicle is a two-hour round trip to see at the welders shop, and I"m going later this week. I'm probably going to need this entire "Tulip Panel" and the back rest - good to know the Chevelle one wont fit and what to look for.

I will get some pics. Already have the new trunk pan, rear quarters, outer wheelhouses, trunk drops, rear window channel (Belden Speed and Engineering makes these), and a partial tail panel, though I may need a full tail panel instead. I could only find a partial replacement tail panel, so far.

So likely still needing the rear deck lid, "Tulip Panel" with backrest, and rear tail panel. I will get pics.
