Charlie66 and Some of the Boosted Carb Parts
1 Attachment(s)
He created for his 4 cylinder Boosted Carb engine.
He now runs EFI. What we have in the picture is a bunch of different parts he created/designed and then either made himself or directed the making of the parts for his 4 cylinder Pontiac Turbocharged Blow-Thru Carburetor. I told Charlie I would let him describe the different parts once he sent me the picture. So here it is: (Click picture to make it larger) You can also copy the picture to a Excel or Word file and make the image larger that way. Tom V. |
Yup Charlie will make anything work no matter what he has to do, and until it runs perfect.

Ok Charlie, I posted the Picture for you so now tell us about the parts you made.

There are 2 power valves in the back of the picture that I learned on while trying to develop making them work correctly . Basically I could use them but the one I have in the carburetor now is the most evolved one out of the 3 made. You know how that deal goes as your designing something you find that things need to be changed to make the piece your building work better.. Also in the back but in the middle, there are 2 adjustable spring caps with copper fuel inlets extensions soldered on for use in the back bowl if I decided to use a power valve in the back. I never actually used them .. The 3 caps in the middle 2 are adjustable ones for the front bowl. I have 1 turned around so you can see the inside. The other one is just a non adjustable one. Then there's the cap that I cut threads into so it could be threaded on to the power valve . To the right of that you can see the installation tool I made for pressing in the spring caps with a little bit of loc-tight on the cap to help hold it in place. I even knurled the handle for grip.. Then lastly are the hold down studs with the holes drilled in them for the signal . 1 is made of stainless and the other one of brass. I made the brass one because I thought it would be cool and would most likely be the only guy with one . I like having 1 off things... those are 6' long and 3/8 in diameter ... |

Now I see the evolution of your BPRV. Good job on your own Blow thru setup.

I think it would be real beneficial for all the blow threw guys here if a build thread was made on how to DIY with making a Holley or any other type of carburetor for a boosted application.. and the starting points of tuning it till its tuned.... Just a thought...

Agree, A sticky like my Holley Carb Thread but on boosted carbs.
The Turbo Forums had a thread like that at one time but the people all went EFI so the thread kind of dried up. The Thread would help a lot of guys contemplating a boosted carb deal using either a centrifugal supercharger or a Turbo set-up. Go for it Charlie. We had a lot of discussions about your deal over the last few years. Time to pass that info on. Don't just let the Carb Knowledge you learned sit on the shelf. Tom V. |
