Hi there, getting a torque plate made over here in NZ, couldnt find one locally and really dont want to ship one 1/2 way accross the world!.
I have measured off a couple of sets of heads but am getting small errors that dont seem to add up for bolt holes and bolt offset from bore.
I have input the data into CAD, but would like to check a few key dimensions off the original design if possible, happy to return a.dxf file if anyone only has scans or paper copies for the favour.

I made mine off a head gasket and it works well. The main hassel is to get the location holes right. I used 1 1/4" gas cut a wee bit small I then drill all the holes and bolted on to a block .I then got the engine shop to bore it on the block indexed off the bores 090 bigger than a 455 bore. It works pretty good.

Hey mate, if you want to send me the DXF file, i'll check your dimensions against a 64 block I have downstairs if you'd like. I've been meaning to draw up a torque plate myself for any engines that I do now as no machine shops over here have one in AU. What did you use as your datum? the front or rear of the block?

I have this picture I saved from somewhere. I don't know how accurate the measurements are but if I remember correctly it came from Cometic. Hope it helps.

I also used a head gasket to make mine. Made it out of 1.5" 6061 plate with a bore of 4.375. Worked great.

Yes, that's the one I posted that's from Cometic. It's accurate. This image might be a little clearer.
But that page doesn't totally show dowel locations, so here's the other page. Note the subtle .010" difference in dowel locations.
