72 chrome remote mirror

I had asked in my other thread but it probably got buried. Was wondering if the 72 Chrome Remote Mirror used the oval escutcheon on the interior door panel like I had on my 69? Or was it supposed to have the square escutcheon like they used on the 72 Body colored side mirrors? I find it hard to believe that the original owner of my car ever just changed the escutcheon and/or mirror for a 69 style.

Wanted for 69 Judge

Need a complete axle assembly for a 69 Judge, 3.55 ratio, safety track HD Nodulat unit. Willing to completely rebuild if necessary , but have to find the correct axle with a 69 date code and correct casting number. Car build date was April 69 at Fremont plant. Currently running on a 69 Chevelle unit with a ratio of around 3.90, this axle assembly is in excellent condition, not sure whether it is a posi. Judge is a Show Car and I must correct this anomaly!

You are correct on the oval escutcheon for the chrome remote. I have had and parted several '72's and all of them that had the chrome remote had that escutcheon.

Thanks Lyn,

Is the mirror itself the same at 69's? It appears so.

I assume that the mirror is the same, but not sure about the stanchion and gasket? Could be a little different because of the sheet metal on the door?

Lyn.
