Nice 70 Formula 400 on Ebay
 

Here is another nice Formula that just popped up on the bay. Verdoro Green with Saddle interior. No spoiler, Rally IIs with white side wall tires. Ad says everything on the car is original.

I notice a lot of these Formulas without the spoiler were ordered with the Rally gauges with Clock. Both of my 74's had Rally Gauges; one had the large clock and the other had the Tach. I remember there being a lot of car clubs in the days (our high school had one) that did Rally races every weekend, where you drove a specific route and guessed at your time to finish, based on distances, published speed limits, etc. Closest to estimated time won. I think that's why there were so many ordered with the Rally Clock.

Very nice car. That's two that have shown up on the bay this week; the Ascot Silver 74 and now this one.

That car has been for sale for a while now, maybe a year to eighteen months. The asking price was 37K. It was also listed on the Hemmings site for a while (as an auction). Apparently it didn't sell, since the pictures in the eBay ad look like the same ones from prior ads. Cool car.

Spoiler was not available on the Formula in 70 as I understand. That option started in 71 for Formulas. Lots of people do add them, however.

Wow that one is practically in my back yard in fact my house is within the span of that picture im 2 streets deep in that pic that paved road is 70th st west im on 67th the california aqua duct is right behind the photographer at the aqueduct vista

The more I look at that car, the more I like that color combo. It is very mojo vintage looking and pretty unique among the remaining F400's in color. Not a color scheme I would ever pic off the color charts, but it is pretty different and I doubt you would run into a twin anywhere. *LIKE*

Car has been on the market a couple of years.

The Hagerty "Great American race" is done this way, not based on speed, but on accuracy without new technology.

The 1st pic was from a parking lot where an auction took place about 4 years ago IIRC .
The AC works... Now there is something you just never see on a 1970 thats for sale..

Yes... just shows how fast certain colors can go in and out of style. Verdoro Green sold like hotcakes on '67/'68 Birds... and by '70 it was definitely an infrequent selection.

I'm guessing this would qualify as a "creampuff"....Formula 400...?

I have it's twin here......with Jade Green interior....and a few more options........but mine looks it's age....
