Im not a vette guy, but who doesn't love the 63/64 vettes. Great find! I had those same wheels on my t/a when I got it. Doesn't look like its moved much since about 1980.

My hubby could have bought his Brother in laws silver 67 428 hardtop/convertible 4 speed. for $1,500.00 back in 1975. He was 18, and my Father in law told him it was not a wise choice as a first car. What ashame. Today that car is worth a lot of money. :(

327's came with the prop arm on the passenger side. Lots of other tell tales in the engine bay, like radiator and shroud, wiring harness, lack of expansion tank. Even the hardware on the rear half shafts are different.
Now the big question is which 427 it came with. And is it a 4 speed, does it have air? Right now the most desirable mid years are the 63 split window and the 67 427 coupe. After my first post I noticed the reverse lights, 67 only. Same for the 427 hood, but those are put on all of the mid years so it's not exclusive. If it's the original hood, it's also valuable. BTW, I play with Vettes too. |

If you have five( 5) fender louvers, then that is 1967 specific, three(3) would be either 65 or 66. Also, there were four(4) 427 engines in 67, L36, L68, L71 and the L88. Looks like it is Marboro Maroon with non original and nasty looking flames and side stripes added.
Also, when I had both small and big block Corvettes( 69), the hood prop arm was on the left side; can't speak to 67 standards. Hey, you are in Spokane and found it there? I would have been HAPPY to drive from CDA to drag that home! |

West Coast GTO, I live in the valley not far from the mall and found the car just south of town in Valley Ford.It came to Wa. in the mid to late 70’s from Houston Tx and was never registered in Wa. The motor in it is a 1970 crr coded ls6 from a Chevelle and the original block that came with it has been decked.It most likely is a 390 hp car but could be a 400 hp car.Thoose are the only big blocks that could have a/c. The tank sticker is visible but I would have to drop the tank to read it.I think that I will clean it up put new tires on a set of rallies and drive it for awhile before I take it apart.

Tank sticker is gold since no PHS available for Chevrolets and MAY be visible with a borescope without taking tank off. 390 and 400 engines were oval port heads( if you have them with the engine) with Quadrajet and 3- 2 barrel Holleys respectively. L71/ L89 are rectangular port heads( aluminum with L89 option) with four bolt mains as would be with the scary fast L88. Great score! |
