Can you let the rest of us in on what you're talking about? :)

Nitemare Performance did an engine build for a charity. It was a raffle with 100, 100$ tickets.

Pontiac Perfection covered the build in 5 or 6 issues.

Oh yeah, I didn't win.

Thank you. I expected an automotive autopsy, or carnage pics

I thought you were giving away an engine you hated.

Andre 10-02-2018 07:52 AM

I don't know much about engine rebuilds, but those articles were quite informative. I was tempted to buy a ticket, but I did not.

Yes, I thought they were very good. I wish Pontiac Perfection would feature more tech articles like that.

Poncho Perfection

Please, give Don Keefe the credit he deserves and get yourself a subscription. You will not regret it. ;)

Thanks for the correction, as usual. I have a subscription. That's how I knew about the tech articles. [emoji106]

We are lining up some more engine build articles but the situation has been difficult, especially since the upturn in the economy. Most engine builders are so busy and behind schedule that they don't have time to put stuff together for an article. We are working around this and will have some interesting builds coming soon. In the meantime, if you are interested in giving your engine business some additional visibility and would like to have an engine build covered in the magazine, feel free to call or email me and I will be happy to consider your proposal. 585-489-9826 or [email protected]. I tend to be pretty demanding but the end results ensure the information is presented in the best possible manner.

Hi Don, I hope you didn't take my post as derogatory in any way. Love P.P., just wished it was a little more performance / tech oriented. Maybe a little more like Pontiac Enthusiast but I could be remembering it though the haze of time.

BTW, I meet you at Great Bend last year & enjoyed your presentation. [emoji106]

We have listened to the requests and are doing our best to accommodate the readers. We are planning on a huge Norwalk section this year, more oriented toward the racers. Tony Webster shot some outstanding photos all weekend and we are looking at doing a racer profile section like we did in PE. The engine build stories are my favorites to put together and Darrin Magro and Jason Scott really came through for us. The series was as good as anything we had ever done before in any magazine and I would love to be able to do more like that in the future.

We would really like to get more subscriptions from PYers. If you subscribe, just mention the Max Performance in the checkout notes on PayPal, on a check memo or call in a sub, I will send a hat out to you free. Simple as that!

Don, I have been enjoying PP and this build coverage was great. How about a follow up with dyno results or track times from the winner?

Don Keefe 10-03-2018 11:24 AM

Dyno results are in the October issue.

YES! How about it. The hard copy is awesome and the content is much better than Smoke Signals.

(Except, it could use a classified section in the back like old magazines used to do.)

Funny you should mention that... we have resisted in the past but we are going to open up free classifieds in the magazine for subscribers only. It is coming very soon and our free hat deal is still going on. Just mention the Max Performance/PY board.
