Twin turbo 428 build?
 

This is very preliminary but a good buddy is offering to donate a pair of 52mm turbos to me for my 428 build. If I go that route, I'd run either E-85 or methanol and my bad ass Jack Ferris ported 6X-8 heads. For drag racing only on a twin turbo setup, is there any type of readily available (affordable) headers or manifolds that would be suitable for this? It would be for my very gutted 78 Trans Am.

I heard tribal headers has turbo headers, otherwise you have to bust out the welder. It was the worst part of making the switch. I have a single. the crossover was a pita too.

The only one working on affordable manifolds that work would be Mark at Luhn Performance and he has several other projects he is working on so it may be a while.
Butler would like to see Mark's Turbo Manifolds finished at some point too.
As the market is there for them.

I used a Summit SBC weld up shorty kit to make my turbo headers and switched on a pair of Pontiac flanges. However, nothing wrong with a pair of factory cast iron log manifolds (in my opinion) at the HP level you'll be at with a pair of 52mm turbos. I used a pair of the logs with J pipes on a basic turbo combo years back,around 600hp. Or buy a set of the Ram Air type cast iron headers.

Yes they do. Don't recall the cost but looked like a good fit

Have to agree on that one. Marty P and The Butlers/Travis Quillen were doing Turbos
30 years ago. Travis had done a lot of tuning on Fords at different shops in the south and had a great background for boosting engines. Travis is another "Boost Engineer" by the way who does not drive race cars. He has designed Belt Driven Kits for Pontiacs (as have Luhn Performance. Fabrication (along with Tuning) seem to be Travis strong areas but he has many strong areas. Anyone who is building a Boosted Turbo engine would be well served to at least talk to Travis Q. about the combination.

So Big Chief has done a lot of good things as far as Boosted Turbo Engines in Pontiacs.
