I have some foggy notion that I got asked this question in early 2019, and indeed I have a picture from April in my files. Obviously I didn't post it on this thread...so I might have emailed it? But it's in the foggy past...
BUT, I can NOW post the picture I took. It shows a view with the door open, of the lower portion of the A pillar...the wide piece of stainless trim that wraps around and shows when viewing the car from the side. Sandwiched on the top of that first wide piece is a separate "U" shaped piece of stainless that has ridges to hold the weatherstrip. In the picture you can see the stack of stainless pieces, one of the screws that goes through both pieces, and the rubber partially peeled back to show the screw. The rubber has features that allow it to press into the stainless and stay in place, as well as the plastic button fasteners that hold the weatherstrip at the bottom...
Hope I explained it well!
