carpet color for leather interior 68 Firebird
 

Which color code should be ordered for a replacement carpet on a 68 Firebird with code 281 leather saddle interior ?

I look on Firebird Central 's website which I know sells ACC and they offer medium saddle and gold as well...

Late 68 had a custom leather option. No repro carpets are the correct color for that interior, all are too light.

what's the build date and color of your car? trying to do a bit of research on these as to how many were made

I don’t have one but have seen the documentation and photos of original cars. The interiors of these 68 leather cars appear to use the 69 Firebird mustard gold color for the interior color.

car is Verdoro green and is late production, I'll get you the exact date soon.

I have this same issue with my 68 firebird. What color did you end up going with? I am looking at Medium Saddle from Ames Performance as the closest match. Just checking one last time before I order. Thanks, DLH

I can see a slight bias on your part,with all the 69s in your stable,but the correct observation would be that 68 first used that gold color and it was carried over to 69.
This is kinda like all those RAII components to RAIV ones like the IV was first.But by all means keep that info coming as you are a wealth of it.

I had a chance to buy a white 68 with that interior a few years back out of Detroit still regret letting that one get away.
