Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy

I had a terrible scare on Tuesday. I rushed the love of my life and best friend to the emergency room. She was having severe chest pressure and pain. She was sent up to the Heart center where the surgeon (after multiple tests) told me she was having a heart attack and will be treated immediately with a Cardio Cath and was prepared to install one possibly 2 stints.
When he came to see me he told me she did not technically have a heart attack.
He said she had what was commonly called "broken heart syndrome" She has Takotsubo . It was discovered in Japan in 1991 and is not common. He assured me that after 4 weeks she would be on her way to a complete recovery.
I was never so scared in all my life. My wife is only 63 and before this in very good health. You never know what is in store for you so listen to your body when it is trying to tell you ,you are in trouble and get to the hospital immediately. The Dr. told me time is very important.
She is doing very good today and she will recover I am sure. Prayers do work.

Ohhhhhh my goodness Dave:eek: I’m sending thoughts and prayers for you both. I am 63, and every time I get a flutter in my chest, it scares me. She’s getting the care she needs prayers for a speedy recovery. You take care of yourself she is going to need you to be strong. Take care, keep us posted on her recovery.:) I have one thing you need to know........keep the house clean, and feed the pets if you have any. :D;) you will thank me later. Mike has had to do it many times when I was in the hospitals.

Glad to hear she'll be ok! interesting cause thought never really heard that before. Going to my cardiologist Monday instead of talking cars and motorbikes I am going to ask him about this.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. My Susie is doing really good. She gets tired easily , but the Dr. said that is normal and she will get better as the weeks go by.
Sounds to me like if you are going to get a heart disease ,this is the one to get.
This is her last year with her new ride.

That Bug needs eye lashes:D happy to hear she is doing so well. I’m guessing with that kind of news you are a bit relieved and feeling better too. ;) best to you both!

Had another really bad week. My wife developed a severe pain in her side late last Sunday. I rushed her to the Hospital. After some tests ,the ER Dr. came in and told us he just called in her heart DR. (3:30 Monday am.) I new this is not good. Turned out she had a clot in her renal artery completely blocking any blood to her right kidney. that kidney is gone forever. Kidney Sr. said she will be fine in a week to 10 days, but will have extreme pain while the body is rejecting the dead kidney. He said her left kidney is 100% healthy and we all only really need one to lead a normal life.
She is doing much better today with the pain not so bad.
I hope this is it for her bad luck.
