1931 Coupe Update

This is Chris Beierling's (gtowagon) wife. I just wanted to share that his 1931 Pontiac Coupe will be at the Mecum Auction in Kissimmee Florida on January 4th. I am hoping to get the word out so we can get a good turnout for the sale. I figured the best way to spread the word is through his favorite forum. I also want to thank the Pontiac community for the outpouring of love and support I've received over the last nine months.

Best luck on sale, and thoughts to you during Holiday times.

I hope the car does well at the auction. I met Chris at the '18 GTO Nats in Pa. I had a chance to talk to him about the car and all the work that went into it....I was really looking forward to seeing his GTO wagon come to life. Does anyone know what's going on with that?

Had a long sit for the last time with Chris at Norwalk-2018, not long after the coupe was fully completed. He was one down to Earth guy, passionate about Pontiacs.

I'm glad to have spent good times with Chris and his '31 at the Vintage Festival at Watkins Glen (2018?). His coupe was very well received.

And just like that it's gone...

Here's hoping the new owner will check in here.

Sickeningly cheap.

Based on photos I felt it was worthy of hitting 50+. But based on auction history, I feel the street rods, restorations and customs fall short, while the resto mods bring the money.

I hope this helps his wife, in some way. I'm sure she would rather have the car with Chris in it.

For those of us who missed it because we were either working or sleeping, what did it cross the block for?

I thought it big enough to see ;)

The reserve was lifted at around 30 so they must have felt comfortable letting it go.
Lets face face it the interest in these cars is rapidly fading, as are we.

Having seen the car in person and having spent some time talking with Chris during construction, I can tell you that I expected it to do better. I guess it being unique and "different" hurt it in that setting. If it were a fiberglass bodied '32 Ford with an LS motor on a Rod Shop chassis, it would have brought two or three times what it brought.

It is a really beautiful build, with no corners cut anywhere. If I had any idea it would sell in that price range I would have seriously considered buying. I hope the new owner appreciates it for what it is.

That price is insulting. The car is a masterpiece.
