magnafuel 500 pump and alcohol Dominator or?

Are there Any heads up Alky guys?
I know there are a few guys that run alky here, i am considering a switch myself. What are the options for rear mounted fuel cell and electric pump? Currently have front mounted 4 gallon cell and magnafuel 500 with a bypass on e85. I want to move to a larger cell in trunk for more capacity and less between rounds duties. I could leave the 4 gall cell in front to run as a primer plus system on alky.
the car was set up for Belt driven alky when i got it, i probably should have left it and bought the alky stuff with it then, but i did not, and i have changed alot of stuff i may end up redoing.
Any advice? Is a belt driven pump and front mounted system the way to go? If so toilet and belt drive over an Alky dominator and elec pump?

I have a magnafuel 500 pump with two dominators both with 212 jets (going to be 224 jets this year) I also have a 3 gal fuel cell in the front with a 5 gal in back. I use a Holley black pump to pull the fuel from the back to the front. It takes me around 3.5-4 gals of alky if I drive to staging lanes, race and drive back. I have 2 buttons I can press to refill the front (one in drivers compartment and one in the engine compartment). When I drive to the staging lanes I refill the front tank I normally will be able to make a pass and drive back after that.
I have a filter and a no. 8 line going from back to front. I also have an manual valve and a electric valve in line, when I press the button to refill the front tank the electric valve opens. Without a valve it WILL gravity feed from the back tank overflowing the front tank. The valve cost my around $30 something on eBay and works great!

interesting set up. so the 500 is installed at the front cell and bypasses back into it? no problems with aeration? How much are you paying for the alky if you dont mind? I have heard anywhere from $2/gallon up to $6+ at the track.

I was running 455 w 650hp alcohol using 10an to bg 280 pump and 8an to reg w 975 carb by Rupert
6.29 1/8 mile . Also use lean out valve. I buy fuel by drum and they also take back drum when empty. If I can remember less than 150 a drum. I usually take 15gal to track and 5gal fuel cell full also. Easily goes 6 rounds and 2 test passes

Yes the 500 for front cell and the regulator by-pass back into the front cell, I have foam in the cells and event noticed a problem. I pay anywhere from $3.50 - $4.50 a gallon that is why I've been pushing only to the staging lanes........I do drive it back, every little bit helps! Buying by the beware is a lot cheaper, maybe my next step! Ive had this setup for a long time with no problems. I can do pics if you want to see them.

My car was not sent up to have a blower engine so my space in the engine compartment is limited. I'm also running an alternator so i have no room for another belt driven part, I can't even run a filter on my front pump, I use mesh screen fitting in the carbs to filter the fuel!

simple set up that works for you. i think if i left the cell up front i would add the primer plus type set up. But thank you for the ideas.

I can go a lot of rounds in a day 9-12 (I've been 9 not counting my one time run), if I push it to the staging lanes and only running an 1/8 mile race I can go 3 rounds without going back to my pit spot and refuel............ round robin stuff! so yea it works for me. :)

ya 9-12 rounds is gettin it done in more ways than one. That's why I am considering the switch. I have a car that can go rounds everytime it shows up. So i want to make sure when we start going deep, i have it up to the task.

That would be 600 cars plus buy backs!

I run an 8 gallon cell in the back. I use an A2000 pump that is set at 28lbs and has a built in bypass that dumps back into the fuel cell. Up front I use the big Holley regulator set at 7 1/2 psi. deadheaded.

Yes, I’ve run a primer plus system for years. It saves a ton of fuel and makes it easy to build heat quickly. I have a 1 gallon cell up front for it.

I do i the old fashion way........after I drive it to the staging lanes I get out lift up the hood and look into the fuel cell, I have a button next to the fuel cell. I press the button which starts the Holley black pump (in the rear) and the electric valve opens then I just top the cell off. I takes all of 30 sec to do it.....no biggie!
I do have the parts (well almost) so it will do it automatically but just haven’t done it.

I have always used a rear mounted cell on methanol. I have used many electric pumps and even a belt driven mechanical pump with no issues over the years with both dead head style systems and return systems. The belt driven pump was actually very nice for a bracket car.
