1108436 starter

I have a 1108436 starter for sale dated 0J8 Otober 8th 1970 needs to be rebuilt perfect for a 71 Judge or trans am or even use it as a service replacement for a 70 judge or trans am $2500

“J” is a September date on starters. My 1108436 has an “M” (9M23) date code which would alphabetically be the 13th month. The letter “I” was skipped on starters likely because it looks like the number “1”

Is there a general rule for how far a 436 starter should pre-date the build date? I've heard of 73 SDs with 1B11 starters.

I have a 1B11 436 starter set aside for a car that was built in March 1972. Feb 1971 too early for a March 1972 car?

Mike

It’s 1B1 or 1B 1 actually, and it’s fact. I’ve seen a 12k mike car, that had one and was ridiculously original.

Personally I haven’t heard of any stamp dates after 1B 1 so given the low production of 72 and SD’s I’d assume 1B 1 is ok for a 72. Doubt anyone will argue it as long as the number is correct.
