ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET ROUND PORT HEADERS FOR MY 63? THANKS GEOFF

If the engine is in the stock location Maddog headers used to make a set that fit. I’m not sure if he’s still building them? They were only 1 7/8” if I remember correctly. You’ll more than likely need to have a set of custom headers built for it.

People have said that 2” 68-72 Hooker GTO headers fit with some tweaking but I have a set and they were nowhere close to fitting my car. My engine was not in the stock location though.

That is what my friend here used as a starting point. Had to change a tube or two though.

I had a old set rusty 68 to 72 A body headers I had to swap a couple of tubes around to make them fit. Then I built a template off of those old rusty headers to build a stainless steel set. I don’t think that I could have built them with the sway bar and stock motor mounts. I needed all that space to put the headers through. Motor plates made lots of extra room. I also cut the lateral arm off of The stock frame welded tabs and used a Heim joint style for the arm on the frame so they wouldn’t burn the rubber insulator. That also made way more room. If you plan on using the stock frame.

You have to see if Mark kept the jig for the headers your looking for.I checked with him for a set of gen 1 V headers and he did not retain that jig.Tom

Thank you guys for the compliments on the exhaust. I could remake the jig if anybody was going to do the exact same combination that I have. they go together fairly quickly.

Tom I do have a set of V headers I did not finish before I had to change directions on my cylinder heads. The DCI were a little too tall to fit in my 63. I wonder if these would help your next build?not completely welded up so they are adjustable still.

I got dizzy looking at your sweet exhaust system, well worth it. Who sells that oval tubing?

spin tech and others sell the oval tubing. that is some sweet work!

I got mine at vibrant 4 inch oval tubing. The mufflers are from spin tech. I made the X pipe it is two 90° that I had to cut a little bit out of each pipe to make them an X. After the mufflers I went back to round tube over the axle. also notched and reinforce the frame I went through it to the keep it up tight. Hop pictures are not upside down again.

one of the websites where I got a bunch of stuff from also. Here’s a few better pictures hopefully? I did use Ford diesel T bolt clamps from their intercooler piping with little tabs welded to the body to hold the exhaust in place. you can get them with the coil spring that helps dampen vibration. I don’t know how much The little coil spring will help with exhaust vibration but we will see soon hopefully.
