Hi everyone, I am trying to see if a lot of the Sunoco stations are closing all over. I am in New Jersey and it seems like all the Sunoco stations are closing by me. I have been using Sunoco in my Gto’s since I have them. It was 94 octane for a long time until they stopped that by me. There is a Shell station by me, but that is not that busy and I am guessing that won’t be open for long. I can’t picture myself going to WaWa and say fill it up high test!!! Thanks, Marc.

Sunoco been gone from around here years ago.
3 left about 1/2 to 3/4 hour one way from me.
And all but 3 Shell stations changed to other company's last couple years. All about 15 minutes away.
A new Marathon opened 10 minutes away between me and work so been using it.
All others are owned and run by local corporates. Family Express and Speedway.
Looks like all use same supplier.

When I lived in Illinois in the 50s-70s thats where I would go for gasoline, as they had the dial on the side of the pump to get the good stuff.

My first "real" job in High School was pumping Sunoco, and it was full service back then. Whatever the customer wanted. My boss had some elderly lady friend who would come in for gas, and I'd wind up checking the oil, clean the windows, and I even had to wipe the mud off her shoes once! So, for $2 worth of gas, they got a lot of pampering !

There are 3 still operating here in Virginia Beach.

They are still around the Cincinnati tri state but instead of corporate stores , they are being bought by foreigners . I went out of my way for Sunoco 94 . I did see a Phillips 66 and a couple of Sinclair stations sprung up in south east Indiana .

They are still on the Indiana Toll Rd (I 80/90)

There are still a few Sunoco stations here in northern Delaware's New Castle County.

Wawa is nothing but a bunch of hogs when it comes to gasoline. Just a whisper of a price increase for crude and they raise their prices. Same goes for Shell. But at least Shell drops their cost by 5 cents every Thursday. The cheapest here is Costco and BJs.

28c / gallon, '68, N. Jersey. Could filler' up for $5. bucks. Man, those WERE the days!

There are still some Sunoco stations around Dayton, Oh. Generally attached to a convenience store. My first real job was running full service at a Gulf Gas station. Gulf No Nox was the high octane premium. Don't remember what it cost per gallon. I do remember Good Gulf, (regular) being 29.9 cents.

Seems to me Sunoco had a refinery down by the Spectrum, before an explosion blew the refinery up. Closed the Passyunk Ave. bridge over the Schulylkill as the SUN chimney was leaning over the bridge!!
