Hood hinges for 68

I made a stupid mistake recently and now need to replace hood hinges. The ones on there were repro and the arm looked shorter than originals anyway so I wasn’t sure about them.

Are there any repros/brands recommended that are the same length as original? I’ve tried buying used and I got bad oness.

I looked at the Ames replacement and didn’t see a brand.

Anyone?

The ones on there were goodmark and they were shorter than my bad originals...not they are bent.

I would call Ames and ask, you can get each side for $85 or the kit for $195 which includes the springs and hardware. You can download the PDF catalog here. https://secure.amesperf.com/catalogs/G36.pdf

They are honest about their quality.

"Ames Performance hinges are, by far, the highest quality reproductions
available at any price. Made of the highest grade steels available, these
hinges meet or exceed factory specifications."

Sounds like those are worth a try. Thank you.

IMHO rebuilt originals are always better than any repro.

I bought a set from Ames several years ago and very happy with them.

I also have the Ames hinges on my 68, they look and work great.

Ames hinges on my 69 - no issues. Used my original springs - all fit and work great.

That’s good news. I’ll get a set ordered.
