Visor Replacement Help

I posted this in the 67-69 Firebird section and did not receive a response. This is for a 1968 Firebird coupe.

Purchased TMI sun visors to go with my one piece headliner.

After removing the visor and it's attached mounting bracket from the ceiling or headliner, what is the trick to separating the rod that runs through the headliner from the mounting swivel bracket? I removed the set screw, I cannot see any spring clips holding the rod in place and I am unable to slide the rod out of the mount.

It should just pull off, sometimes you need to give a quick hit and let the momentum free it. I usually leave the bracket screwed to the roof and pop the visor off the shaft, that way the car holds the bracket. On the 2nd gen the rod is only about 2.5 inches long but they can be stubborn.

There is a sort of "nub" on it as I recall. Needs a good jarring to get it off somtimes
