O.T. with a couple of Pontiac Pictured...Introduced my new ride @the Spencer Oh Show!

Hello Everyone,

I usually build my cars, but this time I purchased one that doesn't need much. The older I get the more I like the oddball lower production stuff you don't see much of.

Here is my 1955 Nash Ambassador Custom Lemans. It is a completely rust-free car that someone took great care of over the years. The Lemans package was the optional dual carb, higher horsepower engine that they used for racing in the Nash Healey the previous year.Production was around 2500 units, I have not researched how many were 4 doors yet.

Also some pictures of a few of the other nice rides at the show.

Weather was perfect & this was the first time driving the car so I was glad that it made the 35 mile round trip successfully. Steering box needs rebuilt as it has lots of play & all the shims have already been removed. Low speed steering was interesting, but the car rode like a dream at 55-60 on our country roads! It also needs a fuel pump, water pump as well as a couple of pot metal pieces chromed. The only other plans for it over winter are to detail the engine compartment & the trunk. Kind of nice to have one that I didn't have to do a restoration on!

I am also blessed to have a girl (Laura) who loves the cars, cruises, shows. I can see next year she will be driving one of the cars to the cruises & shows (probably the XLR-V with the roof down:eek::eek::eek:!)

God Bless
Bill

The Rest!

The Nash was an interesting car, they certainly didn't look like anything else on the road. Pretty cool that you have the LeMans option - looks like it has aftermarket air cleaners.

Definitely Different Stuart!:D

The original air cleaner is in the trunk & in great condition. I will paint it pretty over winter, but don't know if I will drive with it on or just stick it on for shows.

Very nice. Thinking about the engineering back then. It's nice to see cars that have been cared for.

Certainly not something you see every day or at most car shows. Great looking car!

I agree. Very cool car. They were good cars in the day, very durable. And the seats fold down to make the whole car into a bed, too!

Coil springs on all 4 corners?

Yes Sir!

The rear has the shocks inside the springs & the front (at first glance) looks like a strut on every front wheel drive cars nowadays only the shocks are not inside the springs!

Also might be the first year for a front sway bar!

It looks fantastic !
The rear wheel spare kit makes it right , i don't always like those on some cars.

If you ever fold all the seats down into a bed - please post some pictures of that for us.
Have seen it printed in some old ads that they did that, but never seen what it looks like in an actual life style picture.

Very cool and fantastic color combo!!!! The "Custom Lemans" takes it over the top!
