Looks Like I am Back as a 1st Gen Owner 67 Sprint 4-Speed

Well it looks like I am back in the 1st Gen Firebird game, after selling my 69 Sprint almost 2 years ago. I reached a verbal agreement to purchase the 67 4-Speed Sprint, that I was the High Bidder on last month on BAT, but it did not meet reserve.

Very rare car, not only a 4-Speed, but Factory A/C Car, with California emissions, delux interior, power Steering, Hood Tach, and Rally II wheels.

I will be looking for the few parts it seems to need, And probably alot of advise as I have never owned a 67 before, three 68's and two 69's. I know 67's have alot of 1 year only features. Looking forward to the learning curve!

Congrats, Jeff! That is a very cool car.
I was watching it on BaT as well.

looks like a very nice car, and good options, I have always thought the Sprint was a very interesting concept

Thanks Keith & Steve. I will post some pictures when I get it home. Now to get busy and sell some parts & the Solstice Coupe to help pay for it.

Thanks all, the deal is complete, now I just need to go pick it up over the Thanksgiving weekend. Hopefully the weather holds until I get back with it!

Really sharp looking car, nice score

Nice find Cammer, congrats! Wish you safe travel on your trip to go get it.

That sure looks like the first OHC-6 Hood tach. Only one I know of with a 6500 rpm red line. (250 cid was same as Ram II)

Thanks again all for the kind words. I have decided to have the car shipped, as work projects didn't leave much room for a 2-3 day trip to pick it up, And with the price a gas at the moment I could get enclosed non stacked shipping for about $400 more than I figured it would cost to get it myself.

I have a question about the female front seat belt clips mounted on the transmission tunnel (seen on the interior pictures of the auction link in the 1st post) The car is a late build 67 with a mid June of 67 production date, so the clips would fit with the timeline I have read for when they were starting to be installed in Lordstown, But I have never seen those clips installed on a non Console equipped car?
Any Idea if they ever where installed at the factory on non console cars? I am thinking a previous owner probably installed them,

Also the PHS has no wheel or tire call out on it. So I assume that means the car would have shipped with 14X6 steel wheels, and as it has the custom package it would have had delux whel covers and not dog dish hub caps? I will have to see what the wheel codes are when it arrives in a couple of weeks. I would be torn on what to put on the car if it had dog dish caps originally, but I prefer the Rally II's on it to the delux wheel covers. Or a set of Rally I's would be an option.

Great looking car. Love that blue interior. Nice to see two radius rods on the rear axle because, on the cammer, only the 4-bbl manual transmission got two of them.

Well the new to me Sprint arrived at today but I am out of state for work until the 24th! So my Wife got to drive it 1st! I am a bit jealous of her! She said all the neighbors came out to see her new car! Oh well at least she and her father had fun test driving it around the block. She says the hood tach doesn't work, that's not a surprise as I never did get an answer to that question seeing as it has a vintage high energy ignition system on it. But they say everything else seems to work.
Hope to get to see it next week. I will post some pictures when I do get home.

A big time corvette guy that lives right by me owned that car when it was in MD. I think he sold it to the place you bought it from for about the same price you paid. Enjoy!

Thanks for letting me know that, the seller claimed he paid more than I paid for it, But I have learned to never trust a salesman's word on anything.
