1968 GTO glove box lock
Can someone tell me how to remove the glove box lock cylinder on a 68 GTO? I know the case will unscrew once the cylinder is out. Just can get the cylinder to release.
Thanks in advance |
there is a little brass button you need to push on the back side right at the glove box door ,,, its at the 3 oclock position
kinda hidden in a little notch of the outer case ,,, poke your paper clip in there and push it gently ... at the same time wiggle the tumbler out... |

Is there any way to get that cylinder matched to the other proper key? I have the original ignition, doors and trunk cylinders ... but have a donor glove box lock.

nice job ...!!
data .... is your trunk lock original , ? it will have a code stamped in the side ,,, then a qualified locksmith may/should/ could pull your glove box lock apart,,, its like workin on a watch ,,,,almost,,, and do some wafer swapin ...youlle be payin by the hour ,,,probably ... |
Yep, trunk lock is original. Thank you, I'll have to give that a try when I get sick of using a separate key ... not that I ever once in my life have ever locked the glove box :)
