Hood hinges
 

I have a 1973 firebird .Looking for a hood hinge rebuild kit .Or part numbers.Anyone rebuild there hinges?Or I buy new ones from ames.Trying to keep parts on car .Don t have time to send and have rebuilt in virginia.Even though that sounds like a good thing.

Where is Wilson ?Virginia. What was the rate ?Thinking of going to a place in New Hampshire.Said about 3 weeks to do a little over 300 .Sms vintage .Derry New Hampshire .

last time I used them it was around $150 for them to blast, straighten the pieces, over-size the rivet holes and press in new rivets. If you added powder coating I think that made it closer to $250 total but it's been several years. They are a family owned business in Virginia. I sent mine out to Rowland Hall. He did a great job.

The reproduction hinges look OK, but they don't function well. The mechanism is stiff, but at the same time, they're not very stable. So they wobble a good bit when raising and lowering the hood. They're hard to open all the way, and even at the limit, hood doesn't open as far as with the OEM hinges.

Second on Roland Hall, & i have no use for powder coating on hood hinges.

And a person on ebay edoutdoorsman1980..I would of went with Willie Wilson in Virginia .Best price And backed by years and referral.Turn around time was 6 weeks .Body guy wants them in 2.Went with sms in New Hampshire .Thanks everyone and py for the help and info.Appreciate it .Dave.
