Didn't see this listed already. A lot of Pontiacs, in various states of repair, with parts & memorabilia available; might be worth a look for those close enough or others in need of a road trip.

This collection of approx. 90 Pontiac collector car, including many GTO and Lemans cars, along with thousands of 1964-1970 GTO and Lemans Parts. The auction will be Onsite with online bidding for the cars, signs, and some parts. But the majority of the parts will be fore only onsite bidders. There are thousands of hard to find parts from sheet metal to Tri-Powers and more. For Al Blatter, Mr. GTO, there was no other make of car than Pontiac. Ever since that first GTO, he was hooked and started to accumulate Pontiac cars and parts. He just couldn't stand to see a car go to the crusher without the chance of restoration or being a donor for a project. Al, loved to go to the Pontiac-Oakland shows and talk with the owners of the cars. He kept a book of his buddies cars and the parts that they needed. He enjoyed helping them get back on the road and enjoyed finding that long lost part they needed and giving it to them. Al, couldn't also understand when a Pontiac buddy would buy anything else but a Pontiac, but he would help find parts. His friends knew he had a lot of parts, but had no idea until they have started helping with the auction. Al passed away un-expectantly last fall and his wife, Sandy, will offer the massive GTO collection at auction. She, like Al, want all the cars and parts to go to good homes and back on the road. Ive seen it advertised in Old Cars. Vanderbrink has the golden touch when it comes to these kind of auctions. I doubt there will be any 'deals' there.

That came up on my Google News feed a few days back.. definitely won't be any deals to be had as stated above. The car market as a whole is out of control..
I was looking for a 70 Chevelle.. one that has a tree growing through it with no motor or trans is 10k... Barrett Jackson ruined the classic car market years ago..imho

Looks like some cars to part, after all, we do need parts.

I participated and failed at about 4 items. The Judge brought $32K to onsite bid.

Almost had a 63 Lemans but didn't stick it out hard enough.

Items of age in perfect condition brought almost same price as a new reproduction from Ames.

I was a little surpised at the 63 Oldsmobile. A pretty cool car, turbo, 4 speed, 2 year production and ultra low numbers on a 4 speed version.

It is worth noting how healthy the metal was in general. Judge went high because it wasn't cancered, but it was only a rolling shell.

Do you remember what the Olds brought? Very few of them survive with engine in tact and "rocket fuel" container. Unique car.

While Mr GTO and I did not always agree on Pontiac Topics, I am sorry to read of his passing. RIP.

'63 Jetfire brought $12,500

Given it was non-numbers matching, by description was an auto car(pics showed 3 pedals, etc.) a very strong number. If you can do the paint and body on it, one might be okay in the long run.

I looked at the pics and short video of the car. The sale # seems about right for it. Rare doesn't necessarily mean valuable. AKA Gremlin with Levis interior. That car would need deep 5 possibly low 6 figure investment to be a restored. Very small group of interested people in those cars. Olds community is 10% or so the size of the Pontiac hobby. Still a really cool car and a small slice of history.

Summation, 90% of buyers discarded the turbo, took the GM "fix" of a 4 bl. carb. Interesting look at a corporation cloaked in secrecy making bad decisions.
