Happy 101st Ed !!! |
Congrats, Ed!!!!
101 LSA wow. Think i gots an Isky response letter from the early 80s signed the camfather.
I wonder if Tom S. Knows him?
Happy 101 birthday, Ed. You have built some great camshafts for Pontiacs over the years.
Tom V. |
Happy Birthday,God Bless. I always enjoyed reading the engine info at the bottom if your ads.
Happy 101st Ed, good to have you around.
There's a good article in the June edition of National Dragster about Ed and Alex Xydias (who will also be 101 this year). I'm amazed that Ed still owns the T roadster he built in 1938! I don't remember just when he added the Maxi conversion with overhead exhaust valves.

Amazing! True living motorsports legend.

Wow !
Happy Birthday ! |
Give me a break!Im only 77!I dealt with his son.I did know Chet Herbert,I lived right behind his shop in Anaheim. At 17 I was around Tyree,MT,Butch Leal and others.Tyree was the reason I did not grad college,I had to drive by his shop on Chapman on my way to school and my car would just make a left turn into his shop!Tom

Lol, I knew you MIGHT make an hunch towards the age deal....... my connection thoughts were along the lines of the Awesome Southern California connection!!!
I have lots of stories about the Tyree gang,I think 3 of us are all there is left alive.Tom
I got to meet Tyree at the 2010 GTO Nats in Wichita. All of the “Legends” were at a round robin speaking engagement. Arnie would roll his eyes every time Tyreestarted talking about him. That was an awesome event!!
May be wrong on this. but I think Isky may have been the 1st to make Solid roller retrofit cams and lifters for street driven Pontiacs.
Isky Rev kit was interesting to me, never seen one in use.
Happy Birthday indeed!! Being located on the West coast, I never had the pleasure to meet and learn something in person from The "Camfather". I did meet Jess Tyree here locally at Kill Kare Dragway a dozen or so years ago and he was great to talk with. Arnie Beswick was at that event as well and as mentioned when those two "got into the zone talking about the old days", it was pure magic to just stand there and take it all in.
