Probable scam alert
I recently posted an ad for parts wanted. The only responses have been two PM,s. One from haund101 on 10/13, and one from trendbobb on 10/20. Both were sent on their respective join dates, and used the same language about a "trusted" seller with a link to the same e-mail address in each. I'll ignore them.

Yes my experience has been that almost any want add on this site will get responses from scammers. It’s sad but it’s a fact of life these days. Unless it’s someone with a large post count I wouldn’t bother. Even then be cautious.

edited to add: These guys will typically join up in the middle of the night and then immediately start sending out PMs to people who are looking for parts, so we don't usually catch them until the next morning, but we do try to suspend them as soon as we can. |

Seems to be an increased scammer trend / irrelevant video trend across the ( Pontiac ) Fakebook Groups, and Marketplace advs.

Great job by the mods catching these guys before many of us even notice. My WTB ad last week picked up an immediate pm response from a new member (I didn’t check the join date because I didn’t trust it). By the time I looked into it later, that scammer was already suspended.
Great job!!! |
